There is no argument that a modern, democratic society and economic system is the most efficient system around.  But as with any complex system, a balance is required and if that balance becomes skewed, the system will eventually break down.  History offers us countless examples of economic and societal systems that have collapsed when the balance between the "common man" and the governing bodies, be it government entities, religious leaders, or business leaders, loses that delicate balance.  It is our opinion that the balance is again out of whack.

You.  Your forum discussions, comments, article submissions, survey participation, and above all, your suggestions, is what drives the STM community.  STM actively encourages participation and suggestions.

Don't be silly.  History has proven that communism simply will not work.  Economic systems are far too complex for a governing body to manage.  In addition, human nature being what it is, unchecked power in the hands of a select few leads to greed and corruption.  A democratic system, with its checks and balances, is far superior to any other economic system.  The purpose of Smash the Man is to simply provide another one of those "checks" to the system.
